Eccentric polishers: your tool for professional paint jobs
Quality eccentric polishing machines work with low speeds, hardly create any heat and are very quiet. What’s more: the plate where the pad is secured doesn’t rotate, but moves in an elliptical pattern. Thanks to its swinging action, eccentric polishers are easy to use, so even beginners can get good results. They are excellent for buffing car paint jobs thanks to their high power output.
Polishing using an eccentric polishing machine: how to
Apply a small amount of polish to the desired area. Place the plate on the car body, hold the polisher straight and turn it on - this avoids splattering. Choose a low speed and distribute the polish on the surface without applying pressure. To achieve optimal results, polish slowly and make sure that the pad overlaps the previously polished area by about 50 percent. You can now slowly increase both speed and pressure. Always make sure that the plate of your eccentric polishing machine is straight. For a perfect finish, reduce your pressure and speed again. Once the plate has come to a complete standstill, remove the machine from the car body. Finally, rub the polished area with a cloth.
