Digging, building and burrowing fun in the sandpit

On your balcony, patio, or in your garden: there’s almost always enough space for a sandpit. The ideal location for a sand box is clean and sheltered from the wind. If you don’t have a suitably shady spot, opt for a sandpit with a covered roof or position a parasol next to it.

You can find high-quality play houses made from wood as well as smaller plastic shells. Sandpits with a solid base and a cover are best, so pests can’t nest in the sand.

You should fill the sand play area with special, approved sand with a grade somewhere between 0.5 and 2 millimetres. Important: never let small children play in sand alone.
